About us
Musical Theatre Workshops has been created by Hayley Raybone and Kirsty Callender, freelance teachers both from Nottinghamshire.
Kirsty and Hayley have been running workshops in Keyworth for 8 years and with the creation of Musical Theatre Workshops (MTW) they will be able to offer more workshops based on all 3 disciplines of musical theatre, acting, singing & dance.
In addition, MTW will be able to offer age 16 plus workshops, educational workshops in schools, parties and other bespoke events.

Hayley has recently moved back to her home town after spending the best part of the last 2 decades performing in London’s West End and on UK tours in musical theatre productions such as Joseph and his amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (New London), Beauty and the Beast (UK Tour), Monty Python’s Spamalot (Palace Theatre, London), Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (Palladium) and Irving Berlin’s White Christmas (Dominion, London).
She has taught at some of the top performing colleges and schools in and around London including Italia Conti, Irdang, RAD, LSMT, MADD and Sylvia Young Theatre School.
Hayley started dancing at KSTD as a child and went on to train at Arts Educational Schools, London, gaining a degree in Musical Theatre. Hayley is now married with 3 children and is enjoying using her experience to teach others back in Nottingham. She is excited at how successful the musical theatre workshops are; the organic progression of how a conversation 8 years ago between Kirsty and Hayley and their love of theatre has become MTW.
Kirsty, married and a mum to 2 teenage boys, is an associate member of the IDTA and has a degree in modern languages from Hull university.
With dance being a huge part of her life continously from a young child, she now manages Keyworth school of Theatre Dance with her mum, Ann, who founded the school in 1976.
Kirsty teaches pupils of all ages in all disciplines of dance and directs showcases as part of her role at KSTD. She is also a licenced Melody Movement teacher and runs pre-school Melody Bear classes in nursery settings and at KSTD.
She is very much looking forward to this new venture with KSTD colleague and friend Hayley to take their musical theatre workshops to the next stage!
Alice started her training at Keyworth School of Theatre dance and pursued her love for performing at university where she obtained a diploma in dance performance and a degree in musical theatre. During her time there, she performed as Roxie Hart in ‘Chicago’, Calamity Jane in ‘Calamity Jane’, Louise in ‘Gypsy’ and the leading player in ‘Pippin’. She also enjoyed choreographing for the advanced tap team which performed at university dance competitions.
Alice recently performed in her first professional production, ‘The Last Five Years’, and hopes to stay current within the industry, occasionally performing in shows when she isn’t teaching.
Alice has been a passionate teacher from a young age and is a pre- associate member of the IDTA. She is so excited to have returned to the area to teach and is enjoying her opportunities with MTW.
